Dr. Andres Pinto Selected for Biostatistical Traineeship

Dr. Andres Pinto, Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine-Clinician Educator, has been selected for The Task Force on Design & Analysis Traineeship in Oral Health Research Statistics - a two-year award from The Task Force on Design and Analysis in Oral Health Research, providing additional training in biostatistical methods. Dr. Pinto is the only applicant selected nationwide this year.

The traineeship is open to individuals within a dental school or oral-health research institution pursuing a Masters or PhD in biostatistics, epidemiology, or statistics. Dr. Pinto is currently in the Masters in Clinical Epidemiology program within the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine's Center for Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

The Task Force on Design and Analysis in Oral Health Research is a group of biostatisticians, clinicians, epidemiologists, and basic scientists with experience in oral health research and clinical trials. The members and sponsors include individuals from universities, private research centers, government, and industry. The Task Force has two primary goals: 1) To foster and promote the use of sound and innovative methods in the design and analysis of oral health research. 2) To encourage and promote a dialogue among stakeholders in oral health research.
