The morning session is a lecture and discussion about the theory of forensic dentistry, medicolegal issues, disaster management (practical exercise) and antemortem/postmortem x-ray identification. The afternoon will be spent participating in teams in a postmoretem/antemortem identification lab. A lecture and practical exercise on bite-mark analysis will follow.

Microsurgery in Endodontics

This course is geared towards oral surgeons and general dentists practicing apical surgery. A live surgical demonstration will be performed on difficult posterior teeth and the principles and practice of microsurgery will be discussed in lectures. Attendance at this course is limited to 40 people.

Five Key Elements of Successful Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy

The lecture will address five key elements – diagnosis, treatment planning, case presentation/education, instrumentation, and re-care/monitoring – that are crucial to success in recognizing and treating the periodontally susceptible patient as well as the patient with active periodontal disease. The second day will feature four hands-on workshops, focusing on traditional manual instrumentation, advanced manual instrumentation, ultrasonic instrumentation, and instrument sharpening.
