Research Interests:
Dr. Krummenacher is Assistant Professor of Biochemistry. His research interests involve the functions and structures of adhesion molecules and their roles in cell-cell junctions and in virus-cell interactions. Two areas of research are explored: 1) the role of adhesion molecules as receptors for entry and spread of herpes simplex virus (HSV) and 2) their roles in cellular junctions during craniofacial development. Dr. Krummenacher teaches in the biochemistry course for first-year dental students and directs the advanced virology course for cell and molecular biology graduate students.
